Terracotta by Sachii is a designed and curated collection of contemporary lifestyle products in traditional terracotta, from heritage pottery clusters of India.
According to the Founder Sachii Tripathii, the brand was born in September 2020 with a vision to bring indigenous pottery crafts into the mainstream and help customers live healthy, sustainable and environment-friendly lives, while also helping the artisans sustain themselves as well as helping preserve an integral part of India’s cultural heritage.
Says Sachii, “I blend my design skills with handcraft skills of the artisans to co-create contemporary and functional products which are high on aesthetics and relevance. The range at Terracotta by Sachii includes home décor, cookware, serveware and lifestyle accessories.”
Sachii Tripathii has a Post Graduate in Ceramics and Glass Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She has an experience of over 15 years in the sector, along with more than 11 years of experience in the e-commerce industry.
Stating that the idea for her venture initiated with the NSRCEL Women Start-up Programme, Sachii says, “My venture was built with the knowledge, mentoring and guidance received from the programme and the mentors, right from business planning, technological know-how, financial and legal structures, to decision making, hiring, branding, brand building, marketing, and more. A dedicated mentor was tremendously helpful as we could have our everyday queries resolved easily and quickly. The mentor assisted us in registering the venture as an MSME with the Government of India, which offered endless opportunities for me as a woman entrepreneur. The seed funds received from NSRCEL helped scale the production and infrastructure.”
