Bengaluru: Chaitanya Kansal from the 2015-17 Post Graduate Programme (PGP) batch of IIM Bangalore (IIMB) has been selected for the Economic Times Young Leaders Award 2016. Altogether 20 management students from all over India have been selected for the award from an applicant pool of more than 12,000 from across India.
The Economic Times Young Leaders B-School programme is a platform for recognizing and rewarding bright young talent in India’s B-schools. This initiative is meant to encourage, identify and nurture those with the potential to be India Inc’s future leaders.
The selection process included a personality test, a quantitative, logical reasoning and verbal ability test, test to assess the managerial competency, assessment of functional knowledge and oral communication, a case study submission, and an interview with a panel comprising India’s top CEOs. This is the first time someone from IIMB has been selected for the award since its inception in 2014.
The interview panel this year consisted of the following: Dev Bhattacharya (Group Executive President – Aditya Birla Group), Saugata Gupta (MD & CEO – Marico), Neeraj Aggarwal (Managing Director – Boston Consulting Group), Sumitro Ghosh (CEO – Tata Starbucks), Rajiv Dube (Director, Group Corporate Services & Textiles – Aditya Birla Group), Ajay Srinivasan (Director, Financial Services – Aditya Birla Group), Sanjay Rishi (President – American Express South Asia), Zarin Daruwala (CEO – Standard Chartered India), Dilip Gaur (MD – Grasim Industries), and Ashish Dikshit (Head – Madura Fashion & Lifestyle).
The selected candidates earn PPIs from the Aditya Birla Group for their leadership programmes, they attain self-discovery of their managerial strengths (and limitations) on globally-validated and industry-endorsed standards, get featured in the coveted ET Young Leaders B-school list, and gain recognition as one of India’s top managerial talents, and get to network with the country’s brightest minds, apart from interacting exclusively with some of India’s blue-chip CEOs.
