Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Using Blended MOOCs on 9th December 2017

IMBx conducted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Using Blended MOOCs on 9th December 2017. This is the sixthFDP since 2015 and the enrolments and learnings are ever expanding. These programmes are conducted to spread the reach of MOOCs among various institutes and encourage them to blend it with their classroom teaching.

This FDP had about 100 participants registered from over 50 institutes across India. The session began with Professor Jose’s addressing and building the participants’ enthusiasm for the day long event. This was followed by three parallel tracks (Master classes) by Professor Badrinath (Introduction to Investments), Professor PC Narayan (Banking and Financial Markets), and Professor Shainesh (Customer Relationship Management). Participants were enrolled into one of these master classes as per their preference. This was a great opportunity for them to interact with the faculty of IIMB and the participants found it insightful.

The next session of this programme was a hands/on workshop by the IIBMx MOOCs team on how to implement Blended MOOCs into classroom teaching. This was the most interactive session of the day.

“Dear Team IIMBx,

Thank you for your workshop it was indeed a content rich programme. I am sure MOOC’s, the concept can significantly alter, moreover make education accessible to not only higher education but primary education in our country.

You are all doing good work! ”

The closing remarks by Professor Jose were not only encouraging but truly motivating. Hopefully all the participants will experiment with Blended Learning among their students.
