The start-up firm Hapup offers 100% natural and easy-to-make porridge mixes and healthy snacks which are made using superfoods like millets, nuts and seeds. The products do not contain any preservatives, sugar or artificial flavor. The proprietary Nuti Mixes was developed in collaboration with Dr. P. Sudershan Reddy, a leading pediatrician and food scientist from the National Institute of Nutrition. The firm is also incubated at the Indian Institute of Millet Research and is the recipient of the Central Government Grant for Agri Entrepreneurship and Innovation. It has presence on www.hapup.in as well as in all leading online platforms, having served customers in over 190 cities, towns and villages across India.
The founder, Shruti Ajmera Reddy, is the mother of two children and a second-time entrepreneur. She started Hapup when she became a mother for the first time as she was looking to provide the best possible start for her kid. Little did she know at that time that this journey to find an answer to her own problem would lead to the birth of Hapup! Prior to this, she had started a product rental online marketplace called RentSetGo. Before that, she was working with Mumbai Angels, an angel investment firm and Sugal and Damani Group of Companies in corporate finance and strategic initiatives.
Shruti says she owes a lot to the mentoring she received from NSRCEL’s Women Startup Programme. “Thanks to NSRCEL, I am more confident as an entrepreneur today. With the support and guidance of the mentors and the NSRCEL team, we have been able to sail through the pandemic with determination and continue on our journey to build an amazing product for our consumers. Introduction to this amazing group of women in our cohort has been a blessing! The start-up kit has also been remarkable in helping us in our early days in setting up processes and the right foundation for scale. NSRCEL has had an intensely powerful and positive impact on our business and on us.”
