IIM Bangalore welcomed the 46th batch of Post Graduate Program (PGP), and the 43rd batch of the Fellow Program in Management (FPM) on June 10 (Monday). A total of 441 MBA students and 25 doctoral students were part of the inauguration on a pleasant evening at the Open Air Theatre on campus. Professor G Raghuram, Director, IIMB, along with the Chief Guest of the evening, Amit Sharma, Global COO, IBM, GBS, awarded scholarships to the top performing students on the Director’s Merit List and Director’s Honors’ List from PGP 2018-20.

Professor G Sabarinathan, Chairperson of Admissions, IIMB, welcomed and congratulated the 441 students of the incoming batch of PGP 2019-21, and the 25 students enrolled in the FPM programme at IIM Bangalore. Sharing batch details, he said the average work experience of the students enrolled for the 2019-21 MBA is 2 years and female students account for 37% of the total students this year (this number having gone up from 28% last year, which is the highest to date), and encouraged the students to keep the IIMB flag flying high as they had entered the institution with a humungous responsibility.

The Chief Guest of the evening, Mr. Amit Sharma, Global COO, IBM, GBS, and a distinguished alumnus of the IIMB (1992-94), shared experiences from his career. “Chase your dream with passion, drive, energy, and integrity. Face challenges head-on, take time to strategize, operate with integrity, and empower people around you. Attitude makes all the difference,” he told the students.
IIMB Director Professor G Raghuram encourages students joining the two-year MBA and the doctoral programme to make the most of their time at IIM Bangalore.
Professor G Raghuram, Director, IIMB, said: “Learn to focus, prioritize, stretch yourself, discover your potential, and work in a team as team-based work yields more positive results.
