21 December, 2018, Bengaluru: As a child I used to long for adventures in cool, faraway lands. As I grew older, I felt drawn towards the Himalayan mountains. So, when I got the opportunity as a student of the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) at IIM Bangalore for the Himalayan Mountain Challenge (HMC) course, I was delighted.
The Himalayan Mountain Challenge (HMC) coursework, designed for practical learning, had a calming effect and we surrendered to the pristine beauty of the mountains.
Yes…still loads of waste may remain on the trails. Unless everyone participates, we are far away from the dream of a plastic-free India.
However, the trip gave birth to a voice within myself to make my home GREEN (plastic free) and share that sentiment with others.
Thank you IIMB, India Hikes, team members, faculty members, my colleagues and family for supporting the adventurous streak in me and helping make my dream come true.
Let us come together for many more adventures, which are planned at six-month intervals.
Channagiri: Preparatory trek, where we were introduced to the Green Trails.
My first glimpse of the Himalayan peak from the aircraft.
The beautiful Bhagirathi which is considered the source stream of the Ganges.
Example of simple living: no urban EMIs! (Team Trishul)
Very beautifully described… Hope to be a part of this adventure soon….
