Professor Chetan Subramanian, Professor of Economics and Dean Faculty, had some life lessons to share with the PGP and PGPBA Class of 2023 a few weeks before their graduation: Network and build strong relationships with your peers, remain polite in all your interactions – professional and personal, choose your travelling companion on life’s journey wisely and well, and enjoy the glorious uncertainty and unpredictability of life. Opening his address at the ‘Last Lecture’ for the Class of 2023, on a beautiful evening at the Open-Air Theatre, tongue-firmly-in-cheek he asked: “What…

RBI’s Tight Rope Walk Ram Iyer tries to trace the links between a recent series of monetary actions by various central banks and the impact on India’s own interests. The article draws parallels from earlier scenarios to identify measures for the RBI to ensure that inflation targets are met without scuttling growth and employment.
Given India’s dependence on oil imports and US recently over taking China as India’s largest trade partner, one can argue Indian currency has to almost operate in a fixed exchange rate regime with the dollar. With US inflation nearing 9% and measures to reduce money supply via rate hikes and quantitative tightening by the US Fed well-nigh certain a few looming questions present itself to the RBI. The government has decided to focus on capital expenditure with the FM stating it has a multiplier effect of 2.4.1 While it would…

So, how you doin’? With a nod to the most awaited reunion of ‘Friends’, Mridul Nedungottil, from the EPGP Class of 2021-22, shares two crucial takeaways from learning during the lockdown
Two months of this financial year came to completion, recently. Yes, bankers and financial enthusiasts prefer saying ‘financial year’ rather than just using the word ‘year’. It is boring, and as an ex-banker, I will use financial year! As many listeners have told me in the past, I feel it adds a funny layer of sophistication—something required by an MBA graduate, perhaps! Anyway, a lot has transpired in these 60 odd days. We are attending online classes in our rooms (a few of us at Ajmera and others at our…
Solutions for kids with learning disability: Giftolexia
Teena Paul’s youngest child was diagnosed with dysgraphia when he was 13 years old. “This life-changing expereience motivated me to help children with learning disabilities because I realized that society lacks awareness about learning disabilities in children, as a result, such children often get sidelined,” explains Teena. She started Giftolexia, which offers early digital screening solutions, teacher-parent workshops, and online intervention support. “There is a huge gap between the potential and performance of students with learning disability.
